The enlightened are not sitting on mountain tops.*

“Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage.”
Niccolo Machiavelli

The myth-makers of Hollywood like to portray the enlightened as sitting off on some mountain top, barefoot, in rags, chanting and swaying. In reality, the most enlightened people on the planet are not sitting on the sidelines. They are making significant contributions in science, commerce and the arts. They are prime movers in the continuing Ascent of Man.

They use both their intuition and common sense to create the results they desire, first in the metaphysical realm, then the physical.

They see money as a tool and as a way of keeping score; but they play for the love of the game, not the love of money. They set goals – and achieve them – but they view success as a journey and they enjoy the experience.

They look for opportunities and are not deterred by obstacles. In fact, they recognize that every problem presents also the opportunity to solve it – and turn a profit doing so. They don’t dread problems. They cash them in.

They reject victimhood in any form. They choose to be at cause and in control of their lives. They make no excuses. They review the circumstances leading to any undesired result with a view toward what they might have done differently to create a better outcome.

They embrace and employ the Be-Do-Have model of self-actualization. They accept the fact that they must develop and improve themselves as well as their business models. They have concrete plans for both.

They understand that the purpose of human existence is to master the art of creation, of applying toward some worthwhile endeavor that mysterious and inexhaustible energy possessed by every human soul, of developing the necessary traits, habits, characteristics and beliefs as well as a viable plan of action and then executing such plan with precision and persistence until the result is achieved – and a new goal is set.
